Large Article about TransLink Gets Published in Bliki magazine

The latest edition of Bliki magazine contains an article prepared by TransLink specialists about the current state of the interpreting and translation market, the variety of available services and how the market is likely to develop.

The article, titled "From Russian and Back," talks about the financial side of the interpreting market—from the annual turnover of the entire industry to the standard rates charged by specialists in a specific language. A detailed analysis is given of the specialization of various players on the market, as well as prices on interpreting and translation support depending on the language, type and urgency of the work.

It would be impossible to talk about interpreting agencies without having at least a vague notion about the customer, which is why the article contains a portrait of the client. Which companies and which industries are constant customers, and which are occasional? When does it make sense to hire a freelancer, and when does one need the services of a professional agency? Answers to these and other questions are given by TransLink experts in the pages of the magazine.

When an agency is entrusted with an international-level translation, this unequivocally speaks about the company's success, says TransLink General Director Alexei Gerin. "All the large players had many interesting, large-scale projects last year," he noted. "We, for example, were chosen to be the official agency of both Sakhalin-2, the world's largest integrated oil and gas project, and the World Social Services Forum. We also worked with RZD Cup, in which real stars of European football participated, and, finally, interpreted for the Rolling Stones. Such orders show that the dust-covered stereotype that interpreting and translation companies are parochial is undergoing serious changes. The market grew last year, and the profession of interpreter grew more prestigious. Interpreting and translation agencies aren't small offices on the first floors of shopping centers. Rather, they are respected providers of intellectual services."
